Dr Ian Webb was appointed Consultant Cardiologist at King’s College Hospital in 2014. He specialises in interventional cardiology but has experience in all aspects of cardiology care including heart failure, arrhythmias, valvular heart disease, hypertension and cardiovascular risk assessment. Dr Webb qualified in medicine from Oxford University in 2000 during which time he was awarded an MA in physiology and pharmacology. He undertook postgraduate training in medicine and cardiology in London and the south east before obtaining a prestigious British Heart Foundation research scholarship to study at King’s College London. He was awarded his PhD thesis in molecular cardiology from the University of London in 2010. Dr Webb subsequently undertook training in interventional and structural heart cardiology at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital and King’s College Hospital. He was awarded a Boston Scientific Interventional Fellowship to the Wellington Heart Centre in New Zealand.
