Biography
Mr Selway is a Consultant Neurosurgeon carrying out all aspect of paediatric and adult neurosurgery. He has a particular interest in the surgery of the cerebral cortex for epilepsy and brain tumours and runs the largest epilepsy surgery practice in Great Britain. His seizure-freedom rate, following surgery for severe epilepsy, exceeds international norms. As lead clinician for neurosurgery at King’s, he is also interested in the provision of spinal surgery services, developing an innovative system to ensure rapid appropriate surgery.
After basic training in Cambridge and Oxford, Mr Selway spent six years in Birmingham gaining experience in both adult and paediatric neurosurgery. During this time he gained a distinction in a Master’s degree and was awarded the Norman Dott medal from the Royal College of Surgeons. He then went on to a fellowship at King’s College Hospital where he completed his specialist training in functional neurosurgery. Mr Selway also has a first class honours degree in mathematics and statistics.
