Biography
Mr Michael Wilkinson is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with specialist in interest in chronic knee conditions and sports injuries. Mr Wilkinson has now performed over 10,000 operations of which 6,000 are for knee operations such as arthroscopy (key hole surgery), ligament reconstruction and joint replacement operations (primary, unicondaylar, patella-femoral and revisions).
Since 1997 he has been the principal knee surgeon at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and during this time he has developed expertise in soft tissue and sporting knee injuries and degenerative joint disease. He has also helped set up a sport's injury clinic.
Mr Wilkinson trained at a number of prestigious hospitals in both London and Sydney and is also an Honorary Senior Lecturer for undergraduate teaching in orthopaedics at King’s College Hospital.
