Jonathan Makanjuola is a Consultant Urological Surgeon at King’s College Hospital with a specialist interest bladder cancer (Clinical Lead), stone disease and upper urinary tract transitional cell carcinoma (TCC). He was the first recipient of the prestigious BAUS/WCE Endourology fellowship, where he travelled to Sri Lanka to learn percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL - a keyhole surgery procedure to remove kidney stones) and surgical management of advanced stone disease.


He is a deputy editor for the journal of endoluminal endourology (https://jeleu.com/index.php/JELEU/about/editorialTeam) and has published in numerous publications international urological journals. Jonathan has presented over 40 abstracts that the American Urological Association (AUA) , British Association of Urological surgeons (BAUS) , European association of Urology (EAU and the Society International Urology (SIU).


In addition to his sub specialist practice ,Mr Makanjuola has a broad-ranging expertise in managing lower urinary tract disorders (due to enlarged prostate,  bladder dysfunction, or incontinence), recurrent urinary tract infections (cystitis), pelvic pain , chronic prostatitis, recurrent urinary tract infections (cystitis, kidney infections), male subfertility, men’s sexual health and other general benign & malignant urology conditions (blood in urine, abnormal PSA).  Jonathan has a background in health technology and in addition to his medical degree has a bachelors degree in Computer Science. He has worked as a Software Project Manager for a large multinational company, and was seconded to work for the UK Department of Health National IT programme (Connecting for Health). Jonathan has an interest in implementation and evaluation of IT systems that are currently used nationally across the NHS.
