King's is served by the following bus routes:

35, 40, 42, 45, 68, 176 (24-hour), 185, 345 (24-hour), 468, 484, N35, N68

You can also use these routes to travel to King's from our nearest London Underground stations: Oval, Brixton and Elephant & Castle.

Denmark Hill

The hospital is about a five-minute walk from Denmark Hill train station. The station is served by regular, direct rail links to central London at Blackfriars, Victoria and St Pancras International as well as to principal stops in south-east London such as Bromley South, Catford, Lewisham and Peckham Rye. It is also on the London Overground route with trains running between Highbury and Islington and Clapham Junction via Surrey Quays stopping at the station.

The station has recently been refurbished to make it easier for everyone to use and has lifts to all four platforms, accessible toilets and a new footbridge and ticket office.

Loughborough Junction

The hospital is about a 12-minute walk from Loughborough Junction, on Coldharbour Lane. The station is served by trains to London Bridge, St Pancras International, Wimbledon and Elephant & Castle. Bus routes 35, 45 and 345 run from the station to the hospital.

Accessibility

Denmark Hill station has lifts to all platforms.

Loughborough Junction has about 30 steps from the platforms. If you cannot use stairs, please contact First Capital Connect Assisted Travel Service on 0800 058 2844 24 hours before your journey to ask for assistance.

If you are planning to travel to King’s by road, please note that there is no longer general public car parking on site. We are in a residential area so have very few parking spaces close to the site. We encourage patients and visitors to use public transport, cycle, or to be dropped off at the hospital.

Drop off and Collection Zones

To continue to make sure that patients and visitors attending the hospital site can do so safely, we are introducing additional drop off and collection zones. The zones will be located on Bessemer Road near to the entrances at the Hambleden Wing.

People will be able to leave cars unattended for a short time – between ten minutes to two hours dependent on zone – while they chaperone their relative or friend to an appointment. Visitors will also be able to use the drop off and collection zones as required, but spaces are limited.

Disabled drivers

People with valid Blue Badge permits will still be able to park for free. There are around 20 marked parking spaces across the site for drivers who are registered disabled and have a valid Blue Badge. There is no charge for parking in these spaces.

Blue Badge holders can also park in any marked public bay for free when on site, as a patient or visitor.

Motorbikes

Parking for motorbikes or mopeds at King’s is limited. There are about 30 ground anchors on Bessemer Road for use by patients, visitors and staff. There is no charge for using them.

Cycling

There are cycle racks and storage points across the site that can be used by patients and visitors. Please ensure that bicycles are left secured with a high quality lock and not in the way of footpaths.
